Handmade garden stakes make unique garden décor gift
If you arethinking of giving a unique garden décor gift to your favorite green thumb, why not consider handmade redwood vegetable garden stakes.
Vegetable garden stakes make perfect garden markers. As a garden decor gift, any backyard vegetable gardener will truly appreciate. Not only that, they also make great gardening collectables.
There is nothing more appealing than gazing at a cultivated vegetable garden where all of the vegetables are recognized with handmade stakes. It is not only attention-grabbing, it is sure to be a huge hit. Keep in mind that the more unique and stunning the garden stakes are, the more they will be valued by the recipient.
Although metal garden stakes are to some degree popular, there is nothing more exciting than a garden marked off with hand crafted vegetable garden stakes.
How to Make Vegetable Garden Stakes
The garden stakes should be made from two pieces, a block and a REPLACEABLE round 1/4-inch birch wood dowel (used for the stake).
The rectangle block is made from first-class concluded and it is sanded to a smooth finish. The redwood wood block measures: 1-3/8-inches wide x 4-inches long x 3/8-inches thick.
A multicolored image of the vegetable in addition to the vegetable name is transferred to the redwood rectangle block. The rectangle block is then treated with several layers of varnish to protect it from the sun and weather. For example, the wood block for the green beans garden stake has a beautiful crisp image of a bunch of string beans, together with the vegetable name of BEANS.
The replaceable 1/4-inch round wood dowels are available at most home hardware supply centers in lengths of three and four feet. One convenience of replaceable stakes is that you can cut them to any length that you want. The most popular lengths are between twelve and eighteen inches.
You can use a hand-held pencil sharpener to slightly bevel the ends of the 1/4-inch birch wood dowel-stake. The beveled ends make it much easier to insert the wood dowel into the redwood wood block and into the ground in your garden.
When you're looking to give a gardening gift that will be treasured for years to come, give hand crafted vegetable garden stakes. The stakes are not only appealing they give the receiver many years of enjoyment as they gaze over their garden.
